Watch: 2023-24 Phoenix Suns Season Preview
Once new Suns owner Mat Ishbia stepped into the building, the organization began wheeling and dealing. It began with trading for Kevin Durant ahead of the Feb. 9 trade deadline, though Phoenix’s lack of depth and shot creation outside of Chris Paul (who got hurt) and Devin Booker was the reason for its demise in six games to the eventual champion Denver Nuggets in the playoffs.
The Suns then traded Paul for Bradley Beal this offseason, in addition to signing myriad bench pieces on the opening day of free agency to improve its depth. Phoenix also got involved in the Damian Lillard trade, trading Deandre Ayton for a Jusuf Nurkic and a collection of rotation players and picks.
Can the new and improved Suns get over the hump? Do they have enough depth and defensive aptitude to hold up? Matt Hanifan and Jiarmani Depena answer that and more, as they preview their 2023-24 season here!
