What can you say about the Washington Wizards? There’s not a ton of positives to look at right now. Hey, at least they found a way to convince Bradley Beal to stay long term! That’s a good thing. The Wizards are clearly in rebuild mode but they really need to take steps forward to show Beal the future is promising. Let’s take a look at what the Washington Wizards can bring to the table as the 2019-2020 NBA season opens up.

Key Additions: Moritz Wagner, Isaac Bonga, Davis Bertans, Isaiah Thomas, Ish Smith, Rui Hachimura, Admiral Schofield

Isaiah Thomas is a total waste of time so let’s just move on. The Wizards are hoping some of these young guns hit. Mo Wagner and Isaac Bonga come over from the Lakers in free lottery tickets. I actually really like this rookie class. Rui Hachimura can put the ball in the basket. Admiral Schofield is scary dude from Tennessee that may hit. Every team is looking for their Draymond Green and Schofield could be it.

Key Departures: Trevor Ariza, Bobby Portis, Tomas Satoransky

The Wiz lose some proven vets. Bobby Portis come over mid season in the Otto Porter deal. That trade now becomes a salary dump. I think Tomas Satoransky could become a big loss. He provided a lot of guard minutes for this team. He’s a good floor general and most fans don’t even know who he is.

Potential Starting Lineup: Ish Smith, Bradley Beal, CJ Miles, Rui Hachimura, Thomas Bryant

Yikes. At least they convinced Brad Beal to stay! What can you say? John Wall is done. Ish Smith provides some speed? Maybe Washington can take advantage of their youth and out run teams? It feels like CJ Miles has played for every team in the league. The Wizards will likely be one of the worst teams in the NBA. It’s going to be the one man Bradley Beal show playing 800 minutes a night. I’m not sure the Wizards have anything to look forward to this year outside of the lottery.
