How can you be at least a top 10 PG in the league and be underrated? Well, apparently if you are Jamal Murray, the Denver Nuggets small market makes it possible. I’d even argue on some nights that Murray is borderline a top 5 PG in the league, but how is he so massively overlooked? I mean until last season’s playoffs, there wasn’t a lot talk about the Murray or the Nuggets in general. Going into his 4th year this year with the Nuggets, Murray is looking to leap into the top 5 PG discussion.

I’m sure you’re looking for evidence of this, and I got it right here for you. But to really appreciate his stats and his impact on the team, you really have to watch Nuggets basketball. Jamal Murray averaged 18.2 PPG on 43.7 FG%, 4.8 APG, and 3.4 RPG just last season. As I said, these stats are exactly eye-popping, but his impact on the team is so much more than his stats. Nikola Jokic doesn’t do it all by himself, Murray is the second option on that team and is a lot of the reason for the success of that team. Least I remind you, the Nuggets were the 2nd seed in the Western Conference last season for good reason. There’s no reason why people shouldn’t know who he is by now.
With the Denver Nuggets improving almost every year, it’s almost inevitable that Jamal Murray is considered a top 5 NBA PG in the NBA. The question is when not if for Jamal Murray.
