The UFC pound-for-pound rankings are a reflection of the best fighters in the company. How do my own rankings stack up against the UFC’s?

There is no way in hell Alexander Volkanovski is a better pound-for-pound fighter than Israel Adesanya. Volkanovski is a tremendous fighter, but Adesanya has more to offer overall. He has better striking and much-improved wrestling, and he may become the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet at some point in his career.
Max Holloway is also better than Alexander Volkanovski. Holloway is the best pure striker in the entire UFC and has some of the best cardio I have ever seen.
I have Francis Ngannou ranked sixth because he lacks technique. He is a power fighter, meaning he focuses on knocking people out, and although his last fight showed improvement to the rest of his game, I would like to see a more well-rounded set of skills before he moves up my list.
Charles Oliveira is on my list because of how lethal he is on the feet and on the ground. This dude could find a way to submit a bear if he had to. His win over Michael Chandler at UFC 262 cemented him as the best lightweight in the division and showed why he is a top 10 pound-for-pound fighter alive.
I could not justify putting Dustin Poirier above some of the other fighters yet. If he can beat Conor McGregor again in July, I would have no problem putting him inside the top seven, and if he beats Oliveira to get the belt, I could see him going all the way up to top five. Dustin has the heart of a lion and the skills to beat anyone in the division, but right now he is tenth.
Colby Covington, as much as some people may despise him, is a top 15 pound for pound fighter on the planet. He is the only fighter to give Kamaru Usman a real fight in the last 12 months. He is as tough as a human could possibly be and deserves way more respect for how great of a fighter he is.
A lot can change in these rankings in the next few months, so stay tuned for an updated list later this year.
