Tykee Smith 2024 NFL Draft Profile
We just ran through Javon Bullard (found in the embed or here). Now we’re doing his teammate, Tykee Smith. The 2024 NFL Draft Profile series rolls on as we’ll dive deeper on Georgia safety, Tykee Smith.
This is a player I really fell in love with during the course of the year. Smith, checking in at 5-foot-10, 202, was featured a bunch of times in the Stock Report series. The man just made so many plays on the ball. Was documented a bunch of times for just being a ballhawk.
Smith had four interceptions, two sacks, and 70 total tackles for Georgia last year. The Philly native was a three star guy coming out of high school and spent his first two years at West Virginia. This past year Smith emerged as the star DB role for Kirby Smart just making plays all over the field.
I thought my guy crushed the Combine. Ran a 4.46 and crushed all the pure movement stuff. I was worried the long speed wasn’t elite, which wouldn’t be ideal for his frame. Really compact and strong player too. Fights his tail off on special teams and plays like a skilled linebacker. Not afraid to get his nose dirty and just a feel for the ball. Always seems to be around it.
I think Tykee Smith is the best safety in the draft. Nobody seems to like him so I have no problem walking away with him at the end of every draft.
