WWE WrestleMania is the showcase of the immortals. Dream matches get turned into reality and moments that last forever are made. We’re coming off the heels of the WWE Royal Rumble, which is the official start of the road to WrestleMania. So many feuds will kick off or come to a boil to set up matches at WrestleMania. The winner of the Royal Rumble matches gets their choice of which champion they want to face. Well last night on Monday Night Raw, the winners made their decision.
Ripley won the women’s Royal Rumble match and went bell to bell. She entered at No. 1 and went the distance, setting the record for most time spent in a women’s Royal Rumble match in the process.
There was a lot of discussion about who Ripley was going to challenge: Bianca Belair or Charlotte Flair. People were leaning towards her challenging the Raw Women’s Champion, Belair, since Ripley is on Raw. However, Ripley chose the Smackdown Women’s Champion in Flair.
As much as I want to see Ripley versus Belair, her challenging Flair makes more sense. The two already have a rich history and Ripley is coming for her revenge. So, Rhea Ripley versus Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship is officially set for WWE WrestleMania 39.
Cody Rhodes made his highly anticipated return to the ring at the Royal Rumble. Rhodes tore his pectoral muscle about seven months ago right before his Hell in a Cell match with Seth Rollins.
Rhodes entered at No. 30 and went to war with Gunther. The Intercontinental Champion, Gunther, didn’t hold anything back, but ultimately, Cody outlasted him and won the match.
There have been a lot of reports about what WWE is going to do with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. Many people believe that they are going to split the WWE and Universal Championship then. However, on Monday Night Raw, Rhodes challenged Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
It’s official, Rhodes looks to fulfill his legacy by winning the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WWE WrestleMania 39.
