Travis Kelce, Chiefs Agree To Two-Year Extension

Travis Kelce will be in Canton when it’s all said and done. However, his story in Kansas City is far from over. According to Ian Rappoport, the all-world tight end has agreed to a two-year extension. The deal will make him the highest-paid in his position in football. He broke the news earlier today:

In a down year by his mile-high standards, the 34-year-old Kelce put up five touchdowns and 984 receiving yards on 93 receptions. It ended a historic run of seven year run where he racked up 1,000 yards each time. He made an All-Pro team on each occasion and has also been named a Pro Bowler in every year since 2015. For now, at least, the deal will put potential rumblings about retirement to bed. For reference, Rob Gronkowski retired at 32 and former Chief Tony Gonzalez called it quits at 37. However, you’d have to think that 87 will go on for as long as he wants. As long as Kansas City keeps winning Super Bowls, there is no reason to retire. And that outcome is likely to happen for a long time with Patrick Mahomes under center and only 28-years-old.

Staying On Top?

Of all the people on the planet, few are having as good a 2024 as Kelce. He just won his second straight Championship, in pole position for a three-peat. He is currently together with music icon Taylor Swift, forming one of the most popular couples on the internet. He has a trending podcast with his brother Jason who just wrapped up an exceptional career with the Eagles.

He is living a great life these days. On top of all that, he will now be bringing in the most money out of every tight end in the league. He is probably gonna enjoy this offseason a lot before going back to work in the Chiefs Kingdom.

The love story between Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs is still growing. A legendary career after 11 years is only going to get even better.
