The Panthers Gave Robert Hunt $100 Million!?!

The NFL’s newest $100 million man is Robert Hunt. Yes, a guard who played for a mediocre Dolphins offensive line just got $100 million. Yes, the two win Panthers who gave away the first overall pick in the draft just gave this contract out. Do I even need to say anything else?

Mike Garafolo of NFL Network was the first to report the news. It’s $100 million to Hunt over the course of five years.

Hunt, 27, was a second-round pick (39th overall) by Miami in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Dolphins played the former Louisiana at Lafayette product at tackle but quickly moved him to guard after his rookie year. Since then, Hunt has turned into a very solid player. I’m just not sure he’s worth…. $100 million!!?!

Carolina blows and they need all the help they can get with this offensive line. In 2023, Carolina allowed a sack rate of 11.4 percent, which was the third-worst rate in the NFL. Bryce Young is going to need all the help he can get and this is absolutely an upgrade that was needed.

Hunt is also listed at 6-foot-6, 330. Can Young even see over him? That part might be a problem. Young is the shortest starting quarterback in the league.

To close this out, I just want to point out how terrible of a day it’s been in Miami. They didn’t just lose Hunt. They also lost Andrew Van Ginkel to the Vikings and Christian Wilkins to the Raiders.
