The Dave Portnoy Show Is Done Indefinitely

Breaking news coming out of the Barstool world, as Dave Portnoy announced his show is done after calling his own show terrible. The news broke on the Barstool Rundown when Portnoy casually mentioned to KFC and Big Cat that the show was no longer working and changes needed to be made.

“The Dave Portnoy Show is in purgatory… it is suspended indefinitely. I stopped it last week because to be honest, it was terrible. Not necessarily Eddies fault or my fault it’s just the subject’s stale. We did a show it was bad. I said I had to change it up”

The show was created a few years ago after Barstool Sports and SiriusXM failed to renew their radio contract, and Portnoy wanted to have his own show. He picked Barstool Chicago’s Eddie to be his co-host, and the two recorded podcast episodes mostly over Zoom. The show came out once a week, and when the show didn’t release an episode last week, people started to notice.

Tensions had been increasingly growing between the Chicago Host and Portnoy in recent episodes over the last few months, which seems like it ultimately became a pain point. The show usually started with Portnoy recapping his weekend, but towards the end, it felt like pulling teeth for the both of them to even get through the show’s introduction.

When the world shut down in 2020, Portnoy realized that he no longer needed to be in New York City day in and day out, and got out of town pretty soon after. The show was almost always recorded on Zoom remotely when the two weren’t in town together, but that has to play a factor in the quality of the show. Portnoy has recently stepped away from Barstool Sports Advisors and the Pro Football Football Show because those shows can not be recorded while he is not in the studio.

This probably comes at a poor time in terms of fans following the Barstool Sports Founder’s personal life. He is becoming more and more famous, and just recently moved to Miami to establish residency in Florida for tax reasons. The shoulders he would be running into in Miami would make great podcast content instead the Dave Portnoy Show is getting canceled altogether.
