If you would have told me last month the Phillies would be tied for the second wild card spot this late in the season I probably would have called you a scumbag and punched you in the jejunum. Also, side note if you have no idea what a jejunum is I need you to go watch Semi-Pro right now because you’re wasting your life away Brian. Anyway back to the fact at hand. The Phillies are back and they are completely smoking the ball all in part to the fact they brought back a legend to try and save our season.
On August 13, 2019, the Philadelphia Phillies re-hired one of the best managers in their illustrious history. CHARLIE MANUEL IS BACK BABY! Thank the lord people, this season was almost a complete flop and I honestly cannot believe the impact this man has had on the team in his short time back. The Phils are on a 4 game winning streak and just swept the NL Central division-leading Cubs. They have scored 26 runs in the 3 games with Manuel back. TWENTY-SIX RUNS IN 3 GAMES! Where the fuck has this team been since the first month of the season. I thank you, Charlie, in fact, the whole city of Philadelphia thanks you.
The thing is this team can still be dangerous. There’s nothing more unpredictable than playoff baseball. And there’s nothing more dangerous than a Philadelphia underdog. An underdog’s a hungry dog.
