Ryan Garcia Reportedly Tests Positive For PEDs

Boxer Ryan Garcia has reportedly tested positive for performance-enhancement drugs in his fight against Devin Haney on April 20, according to Dan Rafael.

Garcia is coming off a majority decision win against Devin Haney, but now that’s in jeopardy of becoming overturned to a no-contest due to him testing positive for Ostarine. Garcia has put out multiple posts on X, formerly Twitter, mocking the allegations of him taking performance-enhancement drugs.

“Everybody knows that I don’t cheat,” Garcia said in a video posted on X Wednesday evening. “Never taken a steroid. … I don’t even know where to get steroids. … I barely take supplements. Big lies, I beat his ass.”

In the video, Garcia says that the anti-doping agency is blaming a supplement he was taking called Ashwagandha Root and calling that claim, “f*cking r*tarded.”

Ryan has put out multiple statements denying knowingly using any banned substances — and we believe him. We are working with his team to determine how this finding came to be and will address this further once we conclude that process,” Golden Boy said in a press statement.

Ryan Garcia has a 10-day window to submit more samples and be able to clear his name from these cheating allegations.

“We learned about this situation not too long ago and it’s unfortunate Ryan cheated and disrespected both the fans and the sport of boxing by fighting dirty and breaking positive not once, but twice,” Devin Haney said in a statement to ESPN.

This puts the potential crossover super fight Sean O’Malley and Ryan Garcia have both fighters been asking for. With Francis Ngannou being the last UFC fighter to have a crossover fight with Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
