Rob Manfred Is Drunk With Power

Look, I’m sorry if you’re tired of reading about the Astros cheating scandal, but this will go down as the biggest joke of a story in the history of American Sports 20 years from now. Sports commissioners are supposed to legislate rules in a just and fair way. Despite being the single most disorganized commissioner in sports history, Rob Manfred is now taking things to a level that’s not American.

Jeff Passan of ESPN had this report:

“Multiple ownership-level sources told ESPN that dissatisfaction with the penalties had emerged following a conference call with Manfred, in which he explained how the Astros would be disciplined, then told teams to keep their thoughts to themselves.

“The impression,” one person familiar with the call told ESPN, “was that the penalty for complaining would be more than Houston got.”

Hold the phone. So what you’re saying here is that if a team complains about the sign stealing scandal, they will then be punished worse than Houston did? I thought we lived in America? A place where it’s legal to criticize the government and the president. You’re not Hitler, Rob. You don’t get to tell people that they can’t have freedom of speech.

This is the truth. If Rob Manfred was confident in his ruling, he would have never said this. There would be no reason to say this if he did what he thought was right. He didn’t do that. He made a ruling because he’s making shit up and told teams not to complain or they’re next. I can’t be the only one that thinks this is insane. Say whatever you want about the sign stealing scandal. Rob Manfred has taken things WAY too far with this report.

This is only going to keep getting worse. More and more people are coming forward snitching on different people and teams. Won’t be long until every team is connected (because every team does it). It’s only a matter of time until 75 percent of the league is suspended. People better start speaking out soon because Rob Manfred is going to run the entire sport into the ground. Nobody is safe from his hit list until he’s removed from power.
