Rich Rodriguez Bans West Virginia Football Players From Dancing On TikTok

The government isn’t the only ones trying to ban TikTok! Add West Virginia head football coach Rich Rodriguez to that list. The legendary Mountaineers football coach is banning all of his players from dancing on the platform.

“They’re going to be on it, so I’m not banning them from it,” he said. “I’m just banning them from dancing on it. It’s like, look, we try to have a hard edge or whatever, and you’re in there in your tights dancing on TikTok, ain’t quite the image of our program that I want.”

“I’m allowed to do that. I can have rules,” he said. “Twenty years from now, if they want to be sitting in their pajamas in the basement eating Cheetos and watching TikTok or whatever the hell, they can go at it, smoking cannabis, whatever. Knock yourself out.”

As for now, he said: “I hope our focus can be on winning football games. How about let’s win the football game and not worry about winning the TikTok?”

I have some thoughts to close this one out.

A: Maybe this is a boomer mentality coming from me but this is a great move. Dancing on TikTok is for teenage girls. If you’re not a teenage girl, you look like an absolute loser. End of story. Not a discussion.

B: All of this stuff is a distraction. It’s one thing to scroll on TikTok. When you’re a grown man putting a trash dance move on the internet, you just look like an idiot. I admire Rodriguez for having a standard and trying to implement a no-nonsense culture.

C: This is an off-tangent side note but if you’re looking for reasons to agree with Trey on the Ashton Jeanty is extremely overhyped train, here you go…

When you fumble twice against Penn State and average 3.3 yards per carry, I don’t need to see you dancing around like a fool.
