Nuggets Remove Known Cancer Isaiah Thomas From The Rotation

Some NBA players, you are just better without. Isaiah Thomas is near the top of the list. Even when he’s at his best and scoring at an efficient rate, he’s the worst defender in the league and can’t rebound a lick. He’s one of the most known cancers in the history of the sport. It didn’t take the Denver Nuggets too long to figure that out. Thomas is getting pulled from the rotation.

Sean Keeler of The Denver Post had the following:

“Malone said he plans on keeping the rotation smaller down the final few weeks of the regular season, and had explained the rotation to Thomas, whom he’d previously coached in Sacramento, before the game.

“Oh, you definitely talk to him (about the decision), and I’ll keep that conversation between IT and myself,” Malone said. “(It’s) not an easy conversation, but that’s my job.”

“Obviously, 16 (regular-season) games to go, (we’re going to) try to find a rhythm,” said Malone, who didn’t play Thomas in the 26-point victory. “And a rotation that I feel gives us the best chance to win now, and into the playoffs.”

The Nuggets are smart. Cut bait now. There’s no logical reason he should ever cut into Monte Morris’ minutes. The Nuggets are 44-22 and are in 2nd place in the West. There’s no time to mess around with IT. That has disaster written in the stars if he was getting playoff minutes. The guy just stinks.

When Thomas has been on the floor this season, Denver is being outscored by -3.9 points per 100 possessions. When Thomas is sitting on the bench, the Nuggets outscore teams by +5.3 points. That’s a 9.2 point swing when Thomas sits. Not hard to figure out the guy sucks.

This is just another example of something the media has gotten wrong. Isaiah Thomas should be thanking his lucky stars that the Celtics traded for him because nobody would be talking about him if they didn’t. Brad Stevens is the only guy that’s gotten him to play well. He should be sending Danny Ainge and Brad Stevens thank you cards every single day.
