The people of Philadelphia are NOT happy with Howie Roseman after he selected Jalen Reagor with the 21st pick of the 2020 NFL Draft. I’m not saying the Twitter mob is always right but even NFL GM’s are laughing at the birds today. I get why fans are frustrated and they have every right to be. There is going to be a lot of head scratching in Philadelphia going on.
During the BR Draft show, Matt Miller said this:
I got a text from a general manager, who said this is the worst pick of the draft. Like, worse than Damon Arnette, which we trashed pretty hard.
Reagor is not a player I’m super familar with. I didn’t watch a ton of TCU this year but it wasn’t hard to pick up on some of the concerns even limited time watching him. Drops are an issue, production is an issue, and his “Great Speed” was wildly over exaggerated after he ran a 4.47 at the combine.
Maybe Roseman will be proven right. However, he doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt. Nelson Agholor was a flop (Chip Kelly was still in town so maybe that was his call. There is no excuse for the JJ Arcega-Whiteside pick who I said couldn’t play at all. Personally, I would have done everything possible to trade up for CeeDee Lamb or taken KJ Hamler or Van Jefferson later in the draft. The urgency to take Reagor in the first doesn’t make any sense. Especially with Justin Jefferson still on the board. Jefferson would have made a hell of a lot more sense too.
