Nelson Agholor Signs With New England Patriots

Nelson Agholor has signed with the New England Patriots according to Ian Rapoport. The contract is for two years and 26 million dollars.

Agholor has spent the majority of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles but was with the Raiders for the 2020 season. He has 26 career touchdown receptions with over 3400 yards.

Agholor has appeared in 87 games for the Eagles and Raiders, being targeted 456 times in his time on the field. He does have issues catching the ball, catching less than 60% of his targets.

He goes to the Patriots who have been the biggest spenders on day one of the new league year. He will go to New England and head coach Bill Belichick and work alongside Cam Newton.

The Patriots also signed tight end Jonnu Smith, adding more and more offensive weapons to try and aid Newton.

2020 was the best season for Agholor in terms of yards. He had close to 900 receiving yards and matched his career-high of eight touchdowns. It is still unclear how much Newton has left in the tank, but if he can still throw the ball effectively, Agholor is a big-play threat and can take the top off a defense.

Agholor hasn’t always been the easiest teammate to have around, he told multiple players on the Raiders that they sucked. He got his career back on track in Vegas, after being a punching bag for the city of Philadephia.

I mean this guy was saving lives and the first thing he mentioned durring his moment of fame was that he was catching things “unlike Agholor.”
