Nate Wiggins 2024 NFL Draft Profile

There are some high level players at the cornerback position heading into the 2024 NFL Draft. Clemson product Nate Wiggins is certainly one worth talking about. Where does Wiggins stand heading into the NFL Draft? Get ready for his 2024 NFL Draft Profile!

I didn’t watch Clemson as much as I normally do. Mostly because the program has taken a step back. However, he was super noticeable in the game against Florida State. Really did a nice job slowing those weapons down. He left the game late and immediately Florida State picked on his replacement and won the game. Not sure they win without that. That right there tells a lot of the story. I also talked about Wiggins even last year and he’s been a player I’ve been high on for a while.

No real Combine information to work with here. Ran a 4.28 but got hurt running. Definitely a blazing time and he absolutely looks put together from a physical standpoint. Good muscle tone to him and even better overall size. Wiggins checks in at 6-foot-1, 173, and nearly 31 inch arms.

Coming out of high school, Wiggins was a four star recruit but was the 6th rated cornerback in the country during his graduating cycle. Wiggins spent three years at Clemson and will head into the draft as a junior. As a freshman, Wiggins played as a depth corner. The last two years he’s been the starter. 2022 he had 12 pass deflections and a pick six. 2023 he had nine pass breakouts and two picks that included a First-team All-ACC selection.

Super long frame with plus speed. Already built well but if he really adds more muscle, Wiggins could become lethal. Think he can play both man and zone no problem. Great recovery speed and has always had a knack for staying in the hip pocket of the receiver. Has plus instincts and just an overall feel for when the ball is in the air.

The only thing I’d like to see Wiggins improve at is being just more of a dawg. Staying on the field through pain. Be more of a willing tackler. Those minor things get cleaned up and Wiggins should become a front line starter at corner.

I’m a Nate Wiggins fan. He’s one of the four best cornerbacks in this draft and probably belongs in the first round. It’s hard to find cover guys this gifted and Wiggins should fit right in at the NFL level.
