Backstage at UFC 276, Nate Diaz slapped Nelk Boys MMA reporter, OG Shawny Mack. Mack runs the Nelk Boys’ Full Send MMA YouTube channel.
The interaction can be found below.
In the interview, Diaz is clearly unhappy about previous tweets made by Mack regarding one of his teammates.
“Nah *expletive* you better watch your tweets though about my dude that fought recently,” said Diaz in the interview.

When it comes to the Nick Diaz Army, the Diaz brothers keep a tight circle. Diaz’s most recent teammate to fight was Nick Maximov. In his last fight, Maximov was submitted in the first round by Andre Petroski. Jason Hartley from MMA On Point confirmed that the tweets were about Maximov.
In all honesty, I cannot say I am surprised by this situation. If you are going to talk about one of Diaz’s teammates, there is a good chance that a Stockton slap is coming your way. Plus, if you give Diaz a smirk when he confronts you about the situation, you can almost guarantee a palm to the face.
The best part of this interaction is that a UFC employee tells Diaz to do the interview. That part of the interaction was cut from the Full Send MMA video. However, in behind-the-scenes footage, you can see someone telling Diaz to talk to Mack, yet it is very evident that Diaz had no interest in talking to this dude.
I think the common fan response to this comes down to two different mindsets. The first is a nice laugh as you watch Diaz harmlessly slap this goofball – it’s not like Diaz was trying to knock him out. The other is that Diaz should not be slapping reporters – also fair. The only other point I would add is that Mack claimed in his introduction video on Full Send MMA that he was an amateur boxer for 10 years. You would think he’d have shown some head movement. Regardless, it’s not like Diaz is out here slapping guys that haven’t gotten off their couch in years.
Another funny piece in this whole fiasco is that the introduction video for Full Send MMA was posted on June 30. That means Mack was a reporter for three days before getting slapped by a fighter. Let’s see if anyone can break that record.
Add OG Shawny Mack to the victims of the Stockton slap.
