Mortal Kombat 1 reveals DLC with Homelander, Omni-Man

Mortal Kombat 1 can not arrive soon enough for gamers. This new title is a fresh restart for the franchise and it has the potential to be one of the best games in the franchise. The MK1 trailer was released earlier this month, showing fans the new timeline as well as the beautiful cinematography and fighting that is in every Mortal Kombat video game.

Warner Bros. Games and Netherealm have been doing a fantastic job with the rollout of MK1, as there have been multiple trailers showing returning characters, new stages, and new fighting styles and moves. Now, the Mortal Kombat DLC pack has been released.

This is an amazing list of DLC characters in my opinion. However, I am also a huge fan of The Boys, Invincible, and I enjoyed the Peacemaker series. Homelander is a menacing super from The Boys that has a plethora of superpowers. His wrathful and violent personality should allow him to fit in great in MK1.

Omni-Man from Invincible possesses a lot of the same powers except he is arguably even stronger than Homelander–both being extremely intimidating since they can do whatever they want to whoever they want at any moment.

The last new addition to Mortal Kombat is Peacemaker from the self-titled series. He is not as powerful as the other two, but he could bring some solid comedy. Peacemaker is incredibly strong, skilled in hand-to-hand combat and efficient with a variety of weapons. These three additions are exciting for fans because of how new and fresh they are in popular culture. Gamers will eagerly wait to use these characters in Mortal Kombat 1.

Undoubtedly, the three aforementioned characters were the most attention-grabbing in the DLC. However, the three returning characters are some fan favorites.

Mortal Kombat series regular Quan Chi will return in MK1; the deceiving sorcerer died in MK10 and was not in MK11, but now he will be returning in the upcoming game. Another Mortal Kombat character that has appeared in a multitude of MK games is Ermac. Originally known as “the red ninja” by fans, Ermac, a storied character, will once again be playable.

Finally, the last person in the DLC Kombat Pack is Takeda. Takeda was only in one game in the entire franchise and that was MK10. However, he made a huge splash in his debut garnering many fans due to his fun fighting style, backstory and character design.

This is a big win for fans, as it is nice to see newer characters still get recycled in and out with each release. Ultimately, this was an interesting DLC Kombat pack with a solid mix of characters–just another reason for fans to be excited about Mortal Kombat 1.
