Mitch Trubisky Is The NFL’s Version Of Darko Milicic

We live in the year 2022 and there are people actively rooting for Mitch Trubisky to join their team. I don’t want to call those people stupid. I prefer to call them stupid while also providing a reason why they’re in fact stupid.

Luckily, I was blessed with a great memory. I’ve been watching sports my whole life so, after a while, you can spot trends that you pick up from other sports. Mitch Trubisky is essentially the NFL’s version of Darko Milicic.

You remember Darko, right? The same guy the Pistons took 2nd overall ahead of Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade. You guys do remember watching Trubisky play football, right? We do remember this is the same guy the Bears traded up to go get while also passing on Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson.

Trubisky and Darko are very similar. Blinded by the potential that didn’t exist but continued to get chances based on their lofty draft status. We didn’t know much about Darko. He was a foreign 7-foot prospect people hoped could develop into more. Darko showed up to his first practice with the Pistons and everybody in the locker room knew he couldn’t play.

With Trubisky, anybody with a pair of eyes already knew he couldn’t play. I had him as a 6th round prospect. Couldn’t beat out Marquise Williams at North Carolina. Scouts were blinded by the fact that this white guy at quarterback could move better than other white guys at the position. At the end of the day, we knew he couldn’t play.

Even after we knew each of them couldn’t play, they kept getting chances. Darko played for six different NBA teams. Trubisky is about to play for his third team this offseason and might even get a starting job again. It won’t matter because the guy blows. Humans are just deficient and can’t grasp the concept that neither should have been picked that high. If they were lower round picks, it would have been the end of the journey.

I don’t want to hear the words Mitch Trubisky one time this offseason other than to announce where he’s going. The results won’t be any different. He’s a front leg thrower and the ball dies on him. He can’t play a lick. Don’t worry. We will all get a chance to see who raises their Darko card this offseason. It’s a clear indication they just aren’t very intelligent.
