We are days away from the start of the 2019 NFL season and the Eagles quest for another Super Bowl ring. I’m ready to run through a brick wall people. I’M SO GOD DAMN EXCITED PEOPLE! The biggest thing I’m looking forward to is seeing how Eagles second roundpick from Penn State, Miles Sanders, does in his rookie campaign in Philadelphia. This kid is a freaking beast. At Penn State Sanders backed up NFL superstar and 2018 Rookie of the Year Saquon Barkley for the beginning of his college career but showed out last season as a junior. Sanders finished second in the Big Ten and fifteenth in the nation with 1,274 rushing yards. He also was ranked twenty-fifth in the FBS with 98.0 rushing yards per game. Additionally, he finished seventh in the Big Ten in rushing touchdowns (9) and all-purpose yards per game (108.7).
Obviously these aren’t Saquon numbers, and at first glance, they don’t seem too impressive, but the offense was completely different last year because Penn State had an established quarterback with now Baltimore Ravens’ backup Trace McSorley. Either way, Sanders had a good Junior year and honestly shocked me by deciding to come out of college early and miss his senior year. But damn am I happy that the Eagles picked him up. The Eagles now have the best all around backfield in football which is a much needed improvement after the shit show that was 2018 where their leading rusher didn’t even have 600 yard. The time is now Philly! Only a couple days left until the birds bend the Redskins over and pull their braids! GO BIRDS! Don Chach out!
