Mike Wallace: I’ve Gotten Better Since Leaving Steelers

The Baltimore Ravens are counting on veteran wide out Mike Wallace to produce this upcoming season. While the notion in itself sounds a bit foolhardy, Wallace claims he is better than ever.

“I think I’ve gotten better, even though (the) numbers don’t say so,” the 29-year-old Wallace said of his career since leaving the Steelers in 2013, per ESPN.com. “I think I’ll get better this year, and I’ll show some people I have a lot up my sleeve.”

Wallace, 29, has admitted he has lost a step but blames the run centered offense in Minnesota for his decline. With Joe Flacco’s deep ball, Wallace expects to be his old self this season. Then again when factoring in Marc Trestman’s offense for the short passing game the jury is still far from out.

Baltimore’s receiving core has a ton of question marks across the board. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Ravens flirt with a Anquan Boldin reunion, but Wallace is a major player in the vertical passing game. Baltimore’s offense hasn’t been the same since Torrey Smith left for San Francisco.
