Mike Trout and Tiger Woods teaming up to build a golf course
In a pairing that not many of us ever expected to see, MLB superstar Mike Trout and 15-time major champion Tiger Woods are teaming up to build a golf course near Trout’s hometown in South Jersey.
The course, named Trout National — The Reserve, will be an 18-hole course designed by Woods and his firm TGR design. The exact location of the course will be in Trout’s hometown of Vineland, New Jersey.
Construction of the course has already begun and the hopes are that it will open to the public by 2025. But for Trout, the decision to build the course in his hometown was an easy one to make.
“I could put down roots anywhere in the country, but Jessica and I make south Jersey our off-season home and always cherish the time we get to spend there,” Trout said.

Trout continued to rationalize his decision.
“I love south Jersey and I love golf, so creating Trout National — The Reserve is a dream come true. And then to add to that we’ll have a golf course designed by Tiger? It’s just incredible to think that this project has grown to where we’re going to be working with someone many consider the greatest and most influential golfer of all time.”

Woods expressed his excitement about the course and the chance to work with the likes of Trout.
“I’ve always enjoyed watching Mike on the diamond so when the opportunity arose to work with him on Trout National — The Reserve, I couldn’t pass it up,” Woods said. “It’s a great site for golf and our team’s looking forward to creating a special course for Mike, Jessica, John and Lorie.”

The two clearly have a mutual respect for each other and it should create a healthy working relationship. Trout education and knowledge of the golfing world is also a plus, as he has shown on multiple occasions he is more than comfortable with a golf club in his hand.
Like many of his home runs, I’m not sure that ball has ever landed. Now, I’m not sure how much these skills will translate toward designing the course, but it surely can’t hurt. But even if Trout can’t provide much assistance, I’m sure Woods is more than capable of designing a championship-level course.
In all likelihood, the course itself will be a beauty and attract many people, but it won’t be the only thing bringing customers in. The club will also include a driving range, short game area, clubhouse, lodging, and even a wedding chapel.
The course is setting up to be a lavish one while having all the amenities you could possibly ask for. I mean, with these two teaming up, it truly seems like it can’t go wrong. Some of the best at their respective sports for the last decade, they clearly know a thing or two about success.
It’s a team-up we never knew we needed, but one that looks like it will get some great things done. I’m personally not a big golf guy but I must say, I am excited to see this course when it’s complete.
I’m not sure where the desire to create this golf course came from. Maybe Trout is trying to set up an escape plan out of LA, seeing as they seem to be unable to build a competent team around him. I know I certainly wouldn’t blame him for it.
