Don’t be too hard on yourself this week. You could be doing worse. You’re not the Yankees. 3rd grade Trey would never believe the clown show the Yankees have become. Michael Kay over at YES ripped Aaron Boone and the entire franchise for using the 04 collapse to Boston as motivation tactics in order to try to pull off the same feat against Houston.
No lies detected.
“How in baseball God’s name can you be so tone deaf as an organization, as if to do that?,” asked Kay. “How can you be that tone deaf? I mean talk about bad optics. Are you out of your mind? I talked to three players from the ’04 team. They were outraged by the fact that their failure was being used as motivation for the 2022 team.”
“It would be like somebody from Lincoln’s family, and you’re trying to teach them about shootings in theaters and how to avoid it. I mean, are you out of your mind?,” he yelled.
He’s right, by the way. Spot on as spot on gets. The 2004 season is the single darkest moment in Yankees history. It’s also a permanent top five moment in my life. I can’t believe they used that as motivation to try to come back against Houston. Here guys! Check out this movie I made of former Yankees getting pounded so that you current Yankees start playing better! It’s bad.
George is dead and never coming back. Kay is right about that too. Lot of people would be getting fired. Hal won’t do that. He doesn’t have the stones for it.
What a way to end the season. Swept by a real baseball team and embarrassed themselves on the way out the door. Couldn’t have scripted it any better while being totally hamstrung by Aaron Judge in the offseason.
Bronx BB Guns. That’s what you are. Yankees got a lot of daddies out there. Don’t worry, they will run in their caves. We won’t hear from them again until April. That’s who they are. Spoonfed losers that are no longer accountable for their actions.
