Marcus Morris Is Not Happy

It’s been a frustrating Celtics season to this point. Although the NBA regular season means nothing, the Celtics have not played to their potential thus far. Giving away winnable games has been a regular occurrence. Boston pissed away a 28 point lead last night to the reeling Clippers who in sell mode for the future. Marcus Morris is not a happy camper.

Morris spoke with the media following the loss to the Clippers and had this to say:

“For me, it’s not really about [Saturday’s] loss. It’s about the attitudes that we’re playing with,” Morris said. “Guys are hanging their heads. It’s just not fun. It’s not fun. We’re not competing at a high level.

“Even though we’re winning, it’s not fun. I don’t see the joy in the game. I watch all these other teams around the league and guys are up on the bench, they’re jumping on the court, they’re doing all of this other stuff that looks like they’re enjoying their teammates’ success, they’re enjoying everything, and they’re playing together and they’re playing to win. And when I look at us, I just see a bunch of individuals.”

What can you say? Terry Rozier needed to go. He was one of the guys complaining about his minutes. Jayson Tatum needs to stop taking advice from Kobe Bryant and becoming a ball stopper. Kyrie Irving left the Clippers game and the offense crumbled. Al Horford is a pus when it comes to rebounding the ball. Gordon Hayward still isn’t 100 percent but is improving. That’s just what the regular season is. Come playoff time, I’m sure the Celtics will be just fine.

This does kinda relate to what I just talked about on my podcast. Why are NBA guys so miserable? It’s nonstop drama. I’m not even talking about Morris because he’s my type of dude. A guy who embraces defense, will punch you in the face if there’s an issue, and will go to war for his team. I love that guy. However, I’m sure the petty wars inside the locker room can become damaging on a talented team when there are not enough shots to go around. It’s all ego and drama 24/7 in the NBA. You know what will help? Bring in the other Morris enforcer and start cracking skulls to get this shit fixed.
