Big-name players joining the media after their playing career has been a trend as of late. Recently, Tom Brady agreed to a 10-year, 375 million dollar deal with Fox to begin broadcasting once he retires. This deal has LeBron James thinking.
When asked about joining the media, James seemed more than interested after seeing how much Brady was getting from Fox.
“When I saw how much Brady signed for you’re god damn right I considered a career in media,” James said on Uninterrupted.

If James truly wants to become a member of the media, plenty of networks will be bidding for his services. Tom Brady got $375 from Fox because he is one of the best of all time and has elite knowledge of football. James would be the NBA equivalent.
“My knowledge of the sport and being able to have my insight on the sport.” James said when asked why he could do it, “I want to stay around the game forever.”

At 37-years-old it is tough to tell when James will retire. He will probably play for at least a couple more years. That’s unless things go south for James and do so quickly. By the time he does retire, there will be plenty of opportunities for James. He recently became a billionaire so whatever avenue he chooses to pursue likely will not be because of the money. He has recently spoke about becoming an owner as well. Regardless of what avenue James takes upon his retirement, it seems like he will be involved in the game of basketball in one way or another.
