KJ Wright Russell Wilson Is Not Going Anywhere
There have been a lot of rumors surrounding Russell Wilson. However, he has not yet demanded a trade. However, teammate KJ Wright believes Russell Wilson is not going anywhere.
Wilson recently listed a few teams that he would be interested in. He listed the Bears, Saints, Bears and Raiders.
But if anyone on the Seahawks knows the thought process of the franchise, it would be the other two captains Bobby Wagner and KJ Wright.
The latter was drafted by the Seahawks in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Wright has been in Seattle since the year before Wilson was drafted. They’ve become good friends since then.
KJ Wright was recently interviewed on the topic.
““I was kind of caught off guard myself. But looking back at it, Russ isn’t going anywhere,” Wright said Friday on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football. “As long as I’m going to be in Seattle, Russ is going to be the quarterback. He means too much to us. He means way too much to this organization. He means way too much to the city. Usually people want to come to Seattle, not leave Seattle. And so I’m sure that he and the organization will get things figured out. He’s somebody that I admire and love playing with. So I expect Russ to be a Seahawk for a very long time.”
The only flaw in what KJ Wright said, is that he is set to become a Free Agent next month. This will be the first time Wright has hit the market in his 10 year career. And he’s said he won’t give the Seahawks a “hometown discount.” So there is a chance he might not be in Seattle. Though he did say, he’s just as interested in winning as he is in getting paid.
Will the Seahawks keep both Wilson and Wright?
Time will tell. But it sounds as if KJ could be hinting at something.
