We’re getting deep in the weeds with this running back class. Up next on the docket is Troy product Kimani Vidal. What should you know about Vidal heading into the draft? Let’s review his 2024 NFL Draft profile!
Sorry to disappoint but I don’t have any Troy footage featured in the stock report series. To reiterate, when someone wisely pays me to review film, then I’ll watch Troy. Until then, it’s probably a hard no. Regardless, I don’t think we need to grind the tape here. Vidal was present at the Senior Bowl and had a pretty decent showing. He was one of the better running backs at the event, which is why he should be on your radar too.
Don’t have a ton to report on from his Combine performance. Mostly solid all around. No real complaints with the movement skills. Plus, he chipped in a 4.48 on the 40, a 37.5 inch vert, and cranked out 18 reps on the bench. It’s a pretty good baseline of measurables to work with. Vidal checks in at 5-foot-8, 213, and was listed as a three star prospect coming out of Marietta, Georgia.
2023 was by far his best year. Averaged 5.6 yards per carry on 297 attempts racking up 1,661 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. It wasn’t the greatest offensive line in front of him either. Added some passing game work as well. Spent all four years at Troy and increased his volume in each year. Still had over 100 carries as a freshman. Good frame on him. There is some talent here.
I have an undrafted grade on Vidal but this is a guy I’d have higher on my list post draft trying to bring him onto the roster. Has a shot to make it as a back-of-the-roster guy. Think he can turn into a productive running back with time at the NFL level.
