Now that the Bucks have traded for Damian Lillard, there is a clear pecking order in Milwaukee. Giannis Antetokounmpo is the mega star. Lame Time Lillard is the second option. Khris Middleton is all the way in the back as a third wheel. If you ask Middleton, he’s perfectly content with his new role and just wants to win.
“Me being the third guy, I have no problem at all,” Middleton said, according to The Athletic’s Eric Nehm. “I mean, these guys are going to make my life easier. I hope I can make their life a little bit easier.”
“For me, it’s just coming in and trying to fit, be a role player at times,” Middleton said. “Just change roles throughout the game, whatever is needed. … Let those guys handle a lot of the heavy lifting, figure out ways I can help, space the defense, and make their job a little easier.”
“I’m extremely happy. My family’s happy; I’m happy. I’m excited about the future that we have for these next three years that I’m here, and hopefully, we can win a couple more championships. That would be nice.”
I’m sure Middleton doesn’t care about being the third fiddle in Milwaukee. Have you seen what the Bucks are paying him? I don’t think he’s going to complain about the situation with the Bucks. Especially given how easy life will be for him offensively.
Also, the Bucks won a title in 2021. It’s about about getting that second ring now.
