Josh Jacobs, Raiders Agree To One-Year Deal
The Josh Jacobs saga has come to a close, at least for now.
The former Alabama running back has agreed to a one-year-$12 million deal to stay with the Las Vegas Raiders for this season, NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero was first to break the news on Twitter (or X if you want to call it that) Saturday morning.
The Raiders now have their lead back who just came off a career year and will look to help stabilize an offense with quite a few question marks surrounding it.
Running backs have been the talk of the town this off-season, as you have had multiple come out and voice their displeasures about their market and how they are being treated.
The latest domino to fall before the Josh Jacobs news was Jonathan Taylor requesting a trade from the Indianapolis Colts as they have failed to reach an agreement on an extension. Taylor should have quite a few suitors lined up, as Jacobs probably did as well before this extension. Vegas keeps their bell-cow back who should be the focal point of the offense in 2023.
I am sure that Raiders fans all over are rejoicing about the Josh Jacobs news, however, are we sure he is going to change their season around?
When you look at this roster, it is nowhere close to competing in the AFC West, let alone with the other teams in the conference for a playoff spot. This whole situation could have been avoided had they been sellers at the deadline last year and traded Jacobs when they had the chance, but I digress.
We will let Raiders fans have their moment in the sun, as things are sure to come crumbling down here as the season begins in just a few short weeks.
