Jordan Palmer Continues To Praise Sam Darnold

Sam Darnold
Jordan Palmer continues to praise Jets quarterback Sam Darnold. “People have no idea how good this guy is”. (N.Y. Post: Charles Wenzelberg)

No quarterback has more to overcome than Jets quarterback Sam Darnold. His number one wide receiver is Jamison Crowder, who has missed two of New York’s first four games. Behind Crowder, Darnold has been throwing to many cast-offs; Chris Hogan, Lawrence Cager, and Braxton Berrios.

I’m not sure there’s a tight end that disappears more than Chris Herndon. The Jets offensive line is beyond putrid. Oh, and Adam Gase is the head coach and play-caller.

Have I convinced you yet? Good cause that’s just the cherry on top. The point is the Jets are a mess, and it wouldn’t matter who the quarterback is. This franchise isn’t winning games regardless of the quarterback, given the current circumstances.

The Jets lost on Thursday Night to the Broncos 37-28, but overall, Darnold played reasonably well. Realistically, the Jets had the game won, but Adam Gase decided to kick a field goal on fourth-and-inches. Denver never looked back after that.

Jordan Palmer (Carson’s brother) is a respected quarterback coaching guru that many young quarterbacks have sought out in the offseason. Palmer continues to sing the praise of Darnold despite the criticism from others in the media. You know the one who thinks when a team loses the quarterback is the only reason.

“I had over 5 NFL starting QBs text me last night during the game saying, ‘People have no idea how good this dude is.'”

Palmer brings up and obvious point but says it in a very educated way. The weapons the Jets put out on the field is unacceptable. If Darnold isn’t perfect, the ball doesn’t end up in the hands of a receiver. There is no margin for error because nobody is ever open. Combine that with a porous offensive line, terrible coaching, and constant third-and-9 situations because of no reliable running game. Yeah, it’s pretty much impossible not to struggle.

I said it before, and I’ll repeat it; if you think Sam Darnold stinks, you don’t know football. It’s plain and simple. Do you believe Darnold stinks? Do you remember what the Jets looked like without him last year? It was way worse. The Jets don’t deserve Darnold, and it’s criminal what they’re doing to him.
