Joe Flacco Should Win Comeback Player Of The Year

Look, the Damar Hamlin story is a nice story. If he wins comeback player of the year nobody is going to complain. Maybe nobody cares about this award and it doesn’t really matter so who cares? However, can we just please spend a few minutes on Joe Flacco because it needs to be talked about.

Joe Flacco deserves way more respect and should win Comeback Player of the Year for the 2023-24 NFL Season.

Is anybody going to talk about what Flacco is doing right now? Flacco hasn’t played well in a long, long time. The last time he was good at football was back in 2014 when Gary Kubiak was his play caller. Well, Flacco’s play caller right now is Kevin Stefanski who comes directly from the Kubiak tree.

On a separate side note; it just goes to show you how much your environment matters as a quarterback. Flacco is absolutely killing it at 38 years old. Do you think Brock Purdy would be good if the Jets drafted him? Because Flacco wasn’t when he played for the Jets. It matters. Why isn’t anyone talking about why Robert Saleh should be fired again?

Put some respect on Flacco’s name. From off the couch, Flacco is averaging 326.8 passing yards per game. Deshaun Watson averaged 185.8 during his starts this year for the Browns. Watson had seven passing touchdowns in six starts. Flacco has 10 in four starts. He was also quarterbacking the single greatest performance by a Browns wide receiver ever this past week for Amari Cooper.

You’re going to put Eli Manning into the Hall of Fame? Flacco better be a lock then. Eli Manning didn’t look like this at 38. That’s just a fact. At 38, the Giants literally dragged Eli off the team.

Flacco has always had incredible arm strength. Stefanski has done nothing but put the ball in Flacco’s hands. Flacco is averaging 43.75 passing attempts per game. They’re 3-1 in those games and only lost the Rams game because the defense gave up 36 points. Watson only averaged 28.5 passing attempts per game in his starts. Stefanski only wanted to run the ball.

Can we just talk about what’s happening right now? Flacco is the Browns’ best quarterback and they’re absolutely a threat in the AFC. Is anybody going to talk about it? Is anybody going to give Flacco the respect he deserves? It’s the holidays, damnit!

You tell me how good Lamar Jackson is all the time. Where are his playoff wins? Flacco has 10 along with a Super Bowl run where he played out of his mind. It’s probably the single greatest postseason string of performances by a quarterback ever.

Put some respect on his name.

Joe Flacco should be a Hall of Famer. What he’s doing right now with the Browns is absolutely incredible. Is someone going to talk about it other than myself?
