JK Dobbins Is A Fantasy Football League Winner In 2022

We still have a long way until the 2022/23 NFL Season begins but it’s not too early to start talking fantasy football. I have one big prediction for the upcoming season that I feel very strongly about. JK Dobbins is not only a league winner, but also has a chance to be RB1 this season.

I’m drafting Dobbins in every league I’m in. That usually ends up being two of my own leagues and 10 for everybody else. Every year the fantasy rankers totally miss the boat on 5-10 guys. JK Dobbins is one of them and it’s going to look hilarious a year from now.

Dobbins, 23, is entering his third NFL season. The Ravens took the Ohio State product in the 2nd round of the 2020 NFL Draft. As a rookie, Dobbins led the NFL in yards per carry (6.0). Of course, Dobbins tore his ACL a year ago because John Harbaugh brilliantly decided to play him in the last preseason game of the year. After a full year to recover with very little tread on the tires, tell me how this isn’t the year of JK Dobbins?

JK Dobbins will win your fantasy football league this year and I’m willing to bet my life on it.

We just have to be real with what’s going on at the running back position. All of the guys on their rookie contracts are probably the ones you want in terms of fantasy. Sure, there are exceptions but you’re only really ever getting burned on the guys that get too old before the ranking adjusts. In terms of the trajectory of the position, this most likely will be the golden year to own Dobbins.

How do you not love the talent here? Outside of Archie Griffin, nobody has more rushing yards at Ohio State than Dobbins. Yes, the sample size in the NFL is small but Dobbins dominated to the point where he became the most efficient runner in the league right away. I’m now supposed to believe Dobbins is RB TWENTY TWO on the most recent update at Fantasy Pros?

I’m sorry, but that’s so whacked out. I haven’t even gotten to the best part. Even if you don’t like Dobbins, you have to acknowledge that his fantasy situation is probably the single best one to be in. We all know the NFL is becoming a more pass happy league. The ONLY team in the league that has zagged that method are the Baltimore Ravens with Lamar Jackson.

The Ravens ranked first in run percentage in 2020 at 55%. The next closest was New England at 51%. Baltimore fell to 11th in run percentage in 2021 but keep in mind the Ravens were killed by injuries last year to the point where Ty’Son Williams was the Week 1 starter last year. Williams is so bad the Ravens didn’t even tender him a contract this offseason. With Dobbins healthy, expect that number to revert back to the run heaviest offense in the league.

Did anybody else pay attention to what else the Ravens did this offseason? Marquise Brown? Traded. Miles Boykin? Cut. Free agent receivers acquired? Zero. Wide receivers drafted? Also zero.

Can’t say the same about the offensive line. Insert Kevin Zeitler, Morgan Moses, Daniel Faalele, and Tyler Linderbaum. Oh, and two more tight ends too. Why not.

If you can’t read between the lines of what’s happening, I can’t help you. JK Dobbins is going to get the football early, often, and all the damn time. If he leads the league in rushing I would not be surprised. Yes, he’s that good and this is their offense. The only way you botch this one is if another injury happens which I guess is certainly possible. I’ll take my chances here.
