JJ Watt has been released from the Houston Texans according to Ian Rapoprt.
The Texans are the most incompetent franchise at the moment, with Deshaun Watson wanting out as well, both the team’s stars are clearly unhappy with the direction of the franchise.
Watt released a video on Twitter as well.
“I wanted to this on video as oppose to putting out a statement or doing a press conference. I wanted you to hear this directly from my mouth.
I have sat down with the McNair family and I have asked them for my release. We have mutually agreed to part ways at this time. The way that you guys have treated me… treated me like family and I truly feel like you are my family. Since that day I have tried to make you proud on and off the field.
The city of Houston has been unbelievable to me, it is where I met my wife.
I’m excited and looking forward to a new opportunity, but at the same time it is always tough to move on,I want you guys to know that I love you, I appreciate you.
Thank you Houston, I love you”

This is not as shocking news as it appears to be, the Watt saga in Houston hasn’t been the smoothest. He was unhappy with the direction the front office was taking the team, and it looks like that franchise is not going to succeed anytime soon.
Watt’s is closer to the end of his career than the beginning, and the star defensive player deserves a shot to have a deep playoff run, and that was not happening with that team.
