After just seven episodes of Barstool Sports’ college basketball podcast RoundBall, Jeff Nadu is stepping down as co-host. The podcast will continue on with Barstool personality Marty Mush, Michigan center Hunter Dickinson, and former Iowa guard Jordan Bohannon. Nadu broke the news via a Twitter Space:
“I will not be part of that show anymore. I’m just going to go my own way with gambling and focus on that. I think the show that they have as far as Jordan, Marty, and Hunter – I think it’s perfect for those three as far as how they talk about the openness of what’s going on in college basketball.
I’m more focused on the gambling angle and the gambling side of things. I enjoy college basketball as a whole, but for me it’s about gambling and doing it that way. So it’s not that I can’t talk about that stuff; I obviously know all about college hoops. For me, I just want to focus more on gambling and I’m just doing my own thing with it. I have this show every day at 4 o’clock and I just want to be that. We had a conversation and I wish those guys the best.”
Jeff Nadu announced his return to Barstool Sports at the end of August. Details of his involvement with RoundBall followed soon after. Apparently it became clear to Nadu rather quickly that his time would be best spent doing other things. Since his original departure from Barstool Sports, Nadu spent time establishing his own mafia history podcast, The Sitdown, which he still creates content for. It will be interesting to see what RoundBall becomes without Nadu, who provided plenty of knowledge to the show.
