Jay Briscoe Passes Away At Age 38

Jay Briscoe, real name Jamin Pugh, was a professional wrestling legend. He had an incredibly illustrious career in a tag team alongside his brother, Mark. Jay has been wrestling for over 20 years and has held countless championships. Jay spent most of his career wrestling with his brother, the two are known as the Briscoes and are the face of ROH. The Briscoes have been the face of tag team wrestling for the last two decades. Mark and Jay recently had one of the best tag team matches of all time last year with FTR. Their trilogy with FTR is easily one of the best in professional wrestling history. So the entire wrestling industry is mourning the loss of Jay Briscoe.

A Legacy Like None Other

Jay Briscoe was reportedly involved in a car accident. According to a report from Shore News Beacon, three other people were involved in the accident, with one of them passing away. Details on the situation are limited, so there is a lot of unknown. But what is known is the legacy that Jay Briscoe leaves behind. Jay was a staple of ROH for the past 20 years. The Briscoes are ROH, you simply can’t think of ROH without thinking about them. But their legacy goes beyond ROH, it goes to professional wrestling as a whole.

They are one of the most decorated tag teams of all time and easily one of the best teams of the last decade. Jay Briscoes has held 18 different champions in his career, most of them with his brother, Mark, by his side, but Jay is a two-time ROH World Champion. It’s hard to put into words how much Jay has meant to professional wrestling. But one thing is for certain, he has had a positive impact on countless people throughout his career.

Vendetta Sports Media offers our thoughts and prayers not only to Jay Briscoe’s friends and family but to the other people involved in the accident as well.
