Jason Fitz Fired By ESPN

Add another name to the list. Apparently, I’m late to the party with this one but nobody broke the news on it. Jason Fitz has been fired by ESPN. He’s been silent on the matter and only was a super late addition to the NY Post blog that has the updated list of names. We knew more were coming and Fitz is now a goner at ESPN.

Fitz is a bit of an unknown unless you watch hardcore ESPN college football programming. Fitz was essentially the more musically inclined version of Marty Smith. Just out there doing weird stuff for attention. I really don’t know what he brought to the table. We do have one post on Fitz from the past that can be seen by clicking here or on the embed below.

Fitz has been thrown all over the place at ESPN trying to find a niche for him. Maybe the guy just isn’t that talented or not worth the price they’re paying him. When you get thrown the scraps this often, it was a clear indication that ESPN was overpaying for a mediocre talent.

Fitz’s ESPN Press room page is hilarious. He was added to like 30 different projects. All of which failed or are unrecognizable to people that even watch ESPN.

I have no idea what Fitz does next. He is a Nashville guy and probably would actually fit in well on a radio show down there. Other than that, I just don’t see what his value was for ESPN. I don’t mean to pile on too much. The lack of coverage on the guy compared to everyone else that got let go tells you all you really need to know here.
