It took a while but we finally know where Ian Hartitz is landing. Hartitz originally left PFF but the reasons remain unclear. Some say it was because of a controversial tweet. Hartitz says he left on his own terms.
Based on the way his Twitter timeline works, either is very possible. During the days Elon Musk broke the timeline (here is a great example) Hartitz kept getting recommended to me. I had to mute him.
Regardless, we now know the landing spot and it’s going to be following in the footsteps of Matthew Berry.
Hartitz will join Matthew Berry at Fantasy Life. They were the ones to announce the news.
However, the Sports Business Journal also had a story. It’s only about twenty words long so it’s not really worth reading. Just making a note of it because it is a big sports media story. Again, it just goes to show how important fantasy football is becoming. Also, Berry made a statement in the article about how they were actually very aggressive in the pursuit of Hartitz once he became available. Hopefully, Hartitz fits Berry’s sense of humor more at this stop.
Berry: “For years Ian Hartitz has been one of my favorite analysts. He’s smart, accurate and funny — all qualities we love at Fantasy Life. So when he announced he was leaving PFF, we were aggressive in trying to land him.”
Berry is also proving to do pretty well for himself. He now has more fantasy football employees than ESPN does. I’m not sure if that’s true or not but it feels true.
