High Rise Invasion: Season 1 Anime Review

High Rise Invasion
High Rise Invasion

This was actually an anime my students recommended to me (I’m a teacher). I was like “Bet, I’ll watch it.” I’m glad I did because High Rise Invasion is super interesting to me. High Rise Invasion came out on Anime only in February of this year in 2021. There’s so much that this anime doesn’t explain but it’s just giving you enough bread crumbs to stay interested and to figure out what the hell is going on in this anime.

The story starts out with this girl named Yuri Honjo who wakes up in a peculiar place. She’s on top of a skyscraper, actually, all she sees are skyscrapers. Confused about how she got there, she looks around and sees that all skyscrapers are at least connected to another one. She doesn’t have to be confused for very long because she is attacked by someone wearing a mask. However, the person in the mask isn’t trying to kill her, only make her commit suicide? What the hell?

Rating 8/10

This anime has me interested. Much like most of the characters in the Anime, you’re confused on what they are doing in this weird world. You’re trying to figure out how they can get out and what the point of it all is. There’s a lot that happens in the short 12 episodes of season 1. This one had me interested from the start though. Season 1 so far is a 8/10 for me with the potential to be even a higher rating depending on the twists and turns of the next season. Start watching this anime now, I promise you won’t regret it.
