Trevor Lawrence has become a household name amongst football fans. The Clemson quarterback has led the team to two straight championship runs, only falling short last season to former LSU quarterback, Joe Burrow.
Though this football season is still young and Lawrence has one season left with the Tigers, the fight for Trevor has already started. The draft is still seven months away, but a new social media trend has made itself known, “Tanking for Trevor.” Fans of winless NFL teams show their excitement for the 32nd place finish, the number one draft pick, and Trevor Lawrence himself. It is only three weeks into football season for the NFL and the ACC, so it’s hard to predict who’s jersey Lawrence will end up in next season.
The last three seeds in the National Football League as of today, October 1st, are the Denver Broncos (30), the Atlanta Falcons (31), and the New York Jets (32).
Standing at 6 feet 6 inches tall, he has more talent in his left pinky toe than most athletes have in their entire body. Lawrence found himself ranked as a five-star recruit starting his freshman year of high school. He passed for over 3,000 yards four seasons in a row. In 2017 Lawrence broke the Georgia state passing record with 13,908 yards in four seasons. Currently, he has the longest streak of passes without an interception, at 276.
The young star recently stated he didn’t have a ride-or-die football team growing up, but he often looked to his hometown team, the Atlanta Falcons, because most of his friends were birds fans.
Trevor and the rest of his Tigers will take on the University of Virginia on Saturday, October 3.
