Victor Oladipo has been a bit of a journeyman during the 2021 NBA Season. Oladipo will rock his third different jersey of the season. After being part of the James Harden trade earlier in the season, Oladipo has been traded again.
The Miami Heat have acquired Victor Oladipo from the Houston Rockets. Miami is making another push to reappear back in the Finals.
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN was the first to report the news:
The Rockets get Avery Bradley, Kelly Olynyk and 2022 first-round swap rights. The swap rights also include Brooklyn. On the surface, the return on Oladipo appears to be very little. The Rockets sort of just add on to what they received from the James Harden trade.
On the surface, the trade returns appears very little for Houston. Oladipo, 28, is in the final season of a four-year, $85 million contract and will become a free agent after the conclusion of the season. The positive for Miami is that they will hold his bird rights when that time comes.
Oladipo has made his way around the league. He’s now suited up for the Magic, Thunder, and Pacers. After a 20 game losing streak by Houston, it felt like only a matter of time before he was traded again.
On the season, Oladipo has averaged 20.8 points, 5 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. The shooting percentages haven’t been the greatest. The former University of Indiana product sits at 41.1% from the field and 33.3% from deep.
