Everything You Need To Know About The New Vince McMahon Lawsuit

Vince McMahon is in the news again for all of the wrong reasons, as his sexual misconduct has been brought to life, and it is far worse than anyone ever imagined. McMahon was initially being investigated over a hush-money settlement after he had made multiple women sign nondisclosure agreements whom he had sexual relations with. He initially stepped down from his post as WWE’s CEO and Chairman, but forced his way back into the company a few months later.

WWE disclosed just under $20 Million in unrecorded payments Vince made to settle multiple sexual misconduct claims between 2006 and 2022. By the end of 2022, McMahon had already settled a lawsuit with Rita Chatterton, a former referee, and another former tanning spa employee, despite still claiming innocence. However, a new lawsuit has been filed by another former WWE employee. Let’s examine.

(TRIGGER Warning: If you don’t like or are comfortable with the graphic details that follow, I suggest you stop reading here.)

The Lawsuit:

Filed by Janel Grant, a former WWE employee who worked at the company’s headquarters, the lawsuit was filed against Vince McMahon, former Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis and WWE as a whole in the district of Connecticut on Thursday. Grant alleges that she was the victim of physical and emotional abuse, as well as sexual assault and sex trafficking whilst employed by World Wrestling Entertainment.

Grant reportedly felt pressured into a sexual relationship with McMahon, with the threat of legal action against her if she didn’t. During her time with the company between 2019 and 2021, McMahon’s demands became more and more unhinged, with John Laurinaitis getting involved as well. You can read the full 67-page document here, but for those who want it cut down a touch, here are some more of the details.

Grant and McMahon First Meet:

Grant and McMahon first met in 2019 while living in the same apartment building. She was apparently struggling financially following the death of her parents and looking after her elderly grandparents, and McMahon befriended her with the promise of getting her a job in WWE.

Once she was hired, McMahon reportedly began to show an extreme lack of boundaries around Grant; examples of this include greeting her in his underwear, asking her to dress him and massaging her while promising career opportunities in the process. Their relationship was forced into secrecy by McMahon, who told Grant that if word got out about the way he had been acting towards her, he had a world-class legal team who could sort out anyone who had become “a problem” in McMahon’s eyes.

This led to Grant feeling trapped as she was essentially forced into a physical relationship with McMahon, fearing that if it ended, she would be fired and have a large legal battle on her hands.

Things Get Worse:

Grant was given the role of “Administrator-Coordinator” in 2019. By 2020, McMahon had shared explicit photos and videos of her with people both in and out WWE, including a WWE referee and a former UFC Heavyweight Champion. McMahon’s sexual demands delved even deeper, despite Grant asking for it to stop on many occasions–which were always ignored by McMahon.

Vince McMahon caused physical injuries to Grant during their “relations,” including bruising and bleeding from the forceful use of sex toys. The aggression levels intensified when McMahon began naming some of his sex toys after WWE Superstars, with McMahon even going as far as to name the toys according to the race of the wrestler. This led to Grant being sent to a “celebrity doctor” by McMahon, with the doctor diving into her personal and work life.

Janel thought she had a way out when she got sent to work for the XFL in 2020, requesting a full transfer. However, the request was denied. Shortly after this, McMahon allegedly forced Grant into a threesome involving Vince’s physical therapist, which resulted in McMahon defecating on Grant. Following this, McMahon told Grant that he loved her.

John Laurinaitis:

In January of 2021, Grant was officially assigned to work under John Laurinaitis, the WWE’s Head of Talent Relations. However, the former Johnny Ace became just as depraved as McMahon, as Laurinaitis was happy to follow McMahon’s order to force Grant into sexual encounters before her workday started. McMahon also told Grant that if Laurinaitis wanted to incorporate other men into their “relations,” she must “obey” him.

In June of 2021, Grant was involved in an encounter with McMahon and Laurinaitis where she was locked in McMahon’s private locker room. The two men forced themselves on her over a massage table, taking turns to restrain her while saying things like “no means yes” and “take it b***h.”

Brock Lesnar:

Remember that former UFC Heavyweight Champion we mentioned? There is a big chance that it was Brock Lesnar given what happened in July of 2021.

McMahon reportedly instructed Grant to create personalized sexual content for a WWE wrestler he was trying to re-sign. While the lawsuit never officially named Lesnar as the wrestler in question, the wrestler was described as a UFC fighter and WWE talent, with people close to the situation identifying it to be Lesnar.

Vince McMahon shared explicit pictures of Grant with the WWE star, with McMahon telling Grant “he likes what he sees.” Coincidentally, Lesnar re-signed with the company around this time. In August of 2021, McMahon texted Grant “that part of the deal was f**king you.” In December 2021, McMahon gave Grant’s personal cellphone number to the star in question (again Lesnar isn’t officially named).

The star disclosed a fetish to Grant, asking her to film herself urinating, which she agreed to. Once the video was sent, the star reportedly called her a b**ch, but a month later requested a “playdate” with Grant that never ended up happening due to a snowstorm.

The Gifts

To compensate for the fact that he was literally sexually assaulting Grant on a daily basis, McMahon purchased a number of gifts for her during their physical relationship. These gifts started in 2019 when McMahon bought Grant Clubhouse Access tickets, premium tickets to WrestleMania, a Nordstrom gift card worth $2000 and a box of Godiva. These gifts continued into 2020 with more clothes from Nordstrom, as well as flowers, blankets, a pearl/diamond necklace and $20,000 worth of surgery if she wanted it.

In 2021, McMahon splashed out even more as he bought Grant a 2022 BMW 430XI, a $5000 gift card at the Landphier Spa, two private chef-catered dinners at his condo, a gold/diamond necklace, a food assortment display and tea ceremony set from Saudi Arabia, more flowers and $15000 worth of Bloomingdales gift cards. He sent no gifts to her in 2022 because…

The Relationship Ends:

In January of 2022, Vince’s wife Linda McMahon reportedly found out about the relationship he had with Grant, meaning that she would need to leave the company.

However, before she left, she needed to sign a nondisclosure agreement. McMahon agreed to pay Grant $3 million in return for signing the NDA, but the payments stopped coming at the $1 million mark, which also coincides with the initial Wall Street Journal article about McMahon’s sexual misconduct.

According to Grant, the WWE’s internal proof into McMahon’s allegations that launched in November 2022 were a “sham” and that she was never approached by the company to help with the investigation. In the midst of all of this, Grant admitted that she would have been more than happy to help with the probe.

The Outcome:

It’s unclear at the time of writing how or when this lawsuit will be settled, but given the amount of details that have come to light, this will be one legal situation that won’t go quietly. WWE’s parent company, TKO, has already issued a statement saying that they are taking the allegations very seriously as this pre-dates their time as WWE’s owners, and are addressing the matter internally.

Having tried to stay as impartial as possible throughout this article, I wish nothing but the best for Janel Grant and hope that she is okay. I commend her for speaking out and having the courage to do something like this and hope that if there is anyone else out there who has been through something similar, please reach out to someone.

As for Vince McMahon, he needs to be buried beneath the prison. There will be a special place in hell reserved for him, and he makes everyone ashamed to be a wrestling fan. Vince…GFY.
