For the first time since 2013, I feel like the Ravens are finally back. No, not because of that bitch ass Lamar Jackson. It’s because of Eric DeCosta. For the first time in a long time, the Ravens actually are building a quality roster. I am the most pessimistic Ravens fan out there. The 2020 NFL Draft was a good day. Eric DeCosta hit it out of the park.
The turning point was the Marcus Peters trade. Not before and not after. That was the turning point. At that moment, it was almost like the Ravens remembered who they were. I fell in love with the Ravens because of how smart they were. It seemed like every year, they nailed drafts and were always competitive. Finally, Baltimore has their identity back.
I don’t know what happened. It’s like the Ravens remembered that it’s OK to make smart roster moves again. They flat out stole Marcus Peters. Then it kept happening. Calais Campbell for a 5th round pick? Where do I sign? Hayden Hurst for a 2nd round pick? No, seriously, how the hell was anybody stupid enough to take that? I’m not sure Bill O’Brien is even that dumb.
The 2020 NFL Draft Baltimore had blew me away. To sit there at 28 and get Patrick Queen is good with me. Linebacker was the biggest need on the roster. Suddenly, it’s like Baltimore finally remembered that maybe it’s a good idea to replace CJ Mosley. Refusing to franchise him the year before was idiotic.
Add in JK Dobbins. How did that happen? Hayden Hurst who can’t play a lick for a running back who just rushed for over 2,000 yards this year at Ohio State. The man is a tank. I can’t get over it. Justin Madubuike, Malik Harrison, Devin Duvernay… what a draft!
The Ravens are finally back to their ways. A quarterback that I can’t stand and a smart team build a great roster. It’s time for Lamar Jackson to stop being worthless. Mike Vick would win Super Bowls with this roster. Still waiting for Lamar to not be a total ghost in the playoffs. The Ravens are still screwed as long as Jackson is the quarterback but things are moving in the right direction.
