EA Sports UFC 5 Cover Athletes Revealed

Gamers and MMA fans can get excited knowing that UFC 5 is right around the corner. As reported last month, the UFC 5 release date was revealed to be late October. Now, as EA Sports continues their rollout of the new game, the company has dropped important news: They have revealed the two new fighters who will be the UFC 5 cover athletes.

Alexander Volkanovski and Valentina Shevchenko will be on full display on the new cover — two legendary fighters who are in their prime in the UFC. Both fighters are currently in their respective pound-for-pound rankings and are among the biggest names in MMA.

Volkanovski is currently 13-1 in the UFC and his one loss was in an extremely close fight for double champ status against Islam Makhachev. Volkanovski is the UFC featherweight champion and he has five title defenses to his name. He is a spectacular athlete with great striking, wrestling and fight IQ.

On the other hand, Schevchenko is 12-3 in her UFC career and is one of the most dominant women’s MMA champions of all time. However, she is not the women’s flyweight champion currently, as she lost the belt to Alexa Grasso in her last bout. Shevchenko, who has seven UFC title defenses, is booked to fight Grasso in a rematch for the women’s flyweight championship.

There is no doubt that these two fighters are incredibly deserving of the honor of being on the cover of a UFC game.

UFC 5 News

EA Sports has delivered solid UFC games over the years. They are not perfect and they have flaws — which a lot of gamers will point out — but the games offer fun fighting mechanics, good servers and a good career mode. The games are constantly evolving, as EA Sports makes alterations to the striking, grappling and KO mechanics.

There is not a lot known about the game besides the cover athletes and release date. However, on Sept. 7, fans will be receiving the UFC 5 official trailer, which should give fans excited about the latest installment in the UFC franchise. Hopefully, UFC 5 will be the best game yet, as it has been three years since fans received a new game.
