Don’t be fooled by my use of a pun in the title. Drew Lock should be one of the best fantasy QBs this year. I’m tired of the “He’s only played 5 games! How do you know if he’s even good?” 5 games or not, first of all, Drew Lock was busting defenses with JUST Courtland Sutton. The guy is good, and the Broncos immediately recognized that. That’s why they spent most of their high draft picks in reshaping the offense. Did I mention they also added Melvin Gordon? This Broncos team is stacked.
Looking at Drew Lock in fantasy for 2019 leaves some to be concerned. He only averages 13 points per game in 5 games. That’s roughly 65 points. But, was that really his fault? Joe Flacco averaged only 10 points, and he had Emmanuel Sanders WITH Courtland Sutton. He only had 16 points over Drew Lock with more weapons and 3 more games than him. That should give readers some hope here.
Also, um, they added Jerry Jeudy, a guy who I said was the best WR in this draft, and KJ Hamler, another solid rookie WR. They still have Sutton, and their tandem of Melvin Gordon and Phillip Lindsay should add to Lock’s fantasy value too out the backfield. Noah Fant should make a step towards progression and is another weapon for Drew Lock.
That is 6 weapons at his disposable and you’re telling me that he can’t have a breakout season? Ok, boomer. The fact of the matter is, the Broncos are due for a great season, and Lock will impress this season in wins and in fantasy, be on the lookout. Drew Lock has the opportunity to be a fantasy sleeper for QBs. He has top 10 fantasy QB potential and if you don’t see it, well be prepared to lose in your fantasy league.
