Are the Philadelphia Eagles done? If you ask their head coach, he would say yes. What the hell is going on with the Eagles? Who is to blame here? Things have now gotten so bad that their head coach has called the season despite controlling their own playoff destiny. Every Eagles fan is just shaking their head in misery as we speak.
Pederson spoke about his playoff chances today:
“I mean, that’s the thing, as crazy as this is, I would say it’s a long shot, but we’re not out of it,” he said. “We do have four of our division opponents coming up. The guys gotta understand that, and it’s my job to make sure they do understand that — that we’re still fighting and coming to work this week and ready to go and try to figure this thing out. But I’ve gotta show them exactly where we are and what we need to do with these next four games.”
This is awful. You honestly have to think about firing Doug Pederson. He doesn’t sound like a real head coach. Who the hell calls the playoffs a “long shot” while controlling your won destiny? He and Jason Garrett should both be thrown to the wolves. Nobody deserves to win this division.
The Eagles have an easy schedule coming up. After losing to Miami, you can’t chalk up any wins for Philly. Up next for the Eagles are the Giants, Redskins, Cowboys, and Giants. Somehow, Philly wins the division if they win out. Given the way Dallas is playing, they might only need to win Week 16 to win the division. All I know is when Pederson speaks about culture, it’s clear the Eagles have none and that’s on him.
