Is AJ Brown thinking about going the Bo Jackson route? Apparently, it’s something he is considering. Brown is already a star receiver for the Titans but he wants to be a two-sport star. San Diego technically owns Brown’s MLB rights and now he’s asking the team for a tryout so he can try to do both sports at once.
I’m not sure we can take just a Tweet too seriously. However, it’s worth noting that the Padres drafted Brown in the 19th round of the 2016 MLB Draft. Brown also signed a contract that prevented him from playing baseball during college at Ole Miss. Brown was always a big time wide receiver prospect and was always more likely to go the NFL route. Brown’s baseball ability shouldn’t be ignored because the guy could play.
Brown was a big deal in prospect with real potential. The Titans WR was in the 2015 Under Armour showcase game. Long story short, this isn’t just a pipe dream. Brown could probably make the show if he really put the time in.
Nevertheless, Brown promises that if he makes the jump to baseball, he will do better than Michael Jordan.
Imagine this Padres team with Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado, and AJ Brown! Nevermind, it’s the Padres. They would find a way to still screw it up and lose the NL West title to the Dodgers. On second thought, maybe it beats having to play with Ryan Tannehill in Tennessee? Too soon?
