Jackson State QB Shedeur Sanders Signs NIL Deal With Gatorade
Is Deion Sanders creating a powerhouse at Jackson State? Despite being an HBCU school, big things are happening for Jackson State. Sanders already landed Travis Hunter who was the number one recruit in the country. Now his son Shedeur Sanders is signing an NIL deal with Gatorade.
“I am a leader,” Sanders said in a video announcing the deal. “I forged my own path and paved the way for others. Being a student-athlete is a priority. From the classroom, to the game field. When I chose to attend a HBCU, I knew I had a responsibility. That’s to win. In just Year 1, I’m a SWAC champion, and I’m the first ever HBCU player to win the Jerry Rice Award.
“Being the first HBCU athlete to sign an NIL deal with Gatorade — that’s legendary. I’m honored to represent this brand. Shedeur Sanders — the work has just begun.”
This is the third NIL deal that Sanders has landed. His previous two were with Beats By Dre and Brady Brand which is the apparel brand that Tom Brady owns.
Sanders is a legit NFL quarterback prospect which is why he’s getting so many deals. Being Deion Sanders’ son obviously helps. If Deion was never hired by Jackson State, Shedeur would likely be the starting quarterback at Florida State right now.
As a true freshman last year, he completed 272 of 413 passes (65.9%) for 3,231 yards to go along with a TD-INT ratio of 30-8. Sanders can run too adding three more scores on the ground. Jackson State’s quarterback helped lead the Tigers to the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championship crown after an 11-2 season.
