DJ Uiagalelei Enters The Transfer Portal AGAIN

The transfer portal is being flooded with quarterback talent. Just yesterday alone Riley Leonard (link), KJ Jefferson (link), and Grayson McCall (link) all hopped into the portal. That’s not even including Max Johnson who already found a home at North Carolina. Now a former five-star quarterback prospect has entered the mix. DJ Uiagalelei is back in the transfer portal.

247 Sports was the first to report the news:

The 247 post also details that the NFL is a possibility for DJ U. It lists that scouts view him as a 4th or 5th rounder at the current moment. That sounds about right to me. That 4th or 5th rounder status has everything to do with potential, not performance. DJ U completed just 57% of his throws for Oregon State this year to go along with a 21-7 TD to INT ratio. DJ U added six more rushing touchdowns.

DJ U doesn’t have to make a decision until January. He’s still 6-foot-4 and built like a house so someone will be interested.

What went into this decision? That part I’d love to know. Head coach Jonathan Smith left for the Michigan State job so maybe that has something to do with it. Also, don’t rule out that Aidan Chiles is pretty good. Maybe Oregon State told him that they want to role with the younger option next year. Chiles has some potential and deserves playing time.

What an absolutely wild story. Who saw this coming? DJ U is back in the portal again. Time will tell what transpires this time.
