Devonte Wyatt 2022 NFL Draft Profile

The fact that the Georgia Bulldogs could have two DTs go in the first round is astonishing. Both Jordan Davis and Devonte Wyatt were machines for the Bulldogs this year, and while Davis is likely to go in the top-10, Wyatt has a case to go in the first round. This Georgia defense is going to go crazy in the 2022 NFL Draft this year, and I expect Wyatt to surprise some folks. Here is our 2022 NFL Draft profile on Devonte Wyatt.

Wyatt has a very nice combine performance this year. He ran a great 40-yard dash time of 4.77. A man of his size, 6’3, 304 lbs, should not be able to move that fast. He looked great during the drills as well, flashing that massive potential. Watch for yourself.

Devonte Wyatt was a first-team All-SEC performer for the Bulldogs this year, posting 39 tackles, 7 for loss and 2.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. Where Davis is more of a run stopper, Wyatt is proficient in run and pass defense. His punch is fierce and lands well. He has great feet and his lateral quickness is pivotal to moving blockers on the spot. Great hip movement as well. Wyatt is always looking to make a play, moving well around the field. Above-average leg strength as well.

There isn’t a lot to pick Devonte Wyatt apart for. His length is fine, nothing to rave about but not something to slam him for. While his punch is good, he doesn’t use it, or his hands in general for that matter nearly as much as he should. He doesn’t possess a whole lot of pass rush moves either, but then again he isn’t known strictly as a rush guy.

There is a lot to like with Devonte Wyatt. This draft class isn’t loaded with DT talent, but you could argue that Wyatt is right behind his former running mate Jordan Davis. I believe there is a very good chance he finds his way into the very end of the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
